intro
Brief
Cavatappi (Italian word for “corkscrew”) is a social event format inspired by the Italian aperitivo culture and created for a young, international and highly transient audience in Darwin. The project collaborates with local bars and organisations to create curated social experiences focused on connection, atmosphere and community.
My role focused on developing both the online and offline communication of the event.
Concept
The communication strategy was designed to reflect the relaxed, warm and social atmosphere of the experience while avoiding stereotypical Italian aesthetics. The visual direction combines contemporary editorial inspired design with references to Mediterranean lifestyle, creating a brand identity that feels approachable, culturally familiar and friendly at the same time.
Solution
The final outcome includes a range of digital and printed communication assets designed to promote the events, including Instagram posts and stories, posters and event communication materials.
One of the main characteristics of the visual identity is the use of typography arranged in an irregular and dynamic composition, inspired by the spontaneous and lively interactions typical of Italian aperitivo culture.
